privacy policyhow we handle
your information.
The short version: we collect as little as we can, we use it only to reply to you, and we don't sell it or add you to a list. The detail is below.
at a glance
- We only collect what you choose to send us - through the contact form, the assistant, or the "know where you stand" assessment.
- We use it to reply to you and, if you ask for one, to prepare your assessment. Nothing else.
- We don't sell it, share it for marketing or use it to build a mailing list.
- You can ask to see it, correct it or delete it at any time by emailing info@frameworx.co.za.
who we are
This website is run by Frameworx IT (Pty) Ltd ("frameworx", "we", "us"), a company based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) for the personal information described on this page.
Our Information Officer is Nicholas Stander. You can reach them at info@frameworx.co.za.
what we collect, and why
We only receive personal information that you give us, plus a small amount of technical data that comes with every website visit.
the contact form
Your name, work email, company (optional), the service you are interested in and your message.
Why: to reply to you and arrange a call.
the apex assistant
Nothing is sent while you chat. If you choose to leave your email, we receive that address, the conversation so far and the page you were on.
Why: to follow up on your question.
know where you stand
Your answers stay in your browser until you enter an email address and press send. Then we receive your answers and results, your name and company, your email, and your phone number and note if you add them. You also get a summary by email.
Why: to write and send your assessment, and to talk to you about it.
emails you send us
If you email us directly, we keep the conversation.
Why: to deal with your message.
Website analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to see which pages are useful. It records anonymous, aggregated visit data - the pages viewed, how a visit arrived, rough location, browser and device type. It does not use cookies and does not follow you around other websites.
Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (your IP address, the pages requested and your browser type) for security and troubleshooting. Our pages also load typefaces from Google Fonts, so when a page loads your browser contacts Google, which means Google can see your IP address.
why we are allowed to use it
POPIA lets us process personal information when you ask us to respond to something, when you have consented, or when we have a legitimate interest that doesn't override your rights. Sending us a form or an email is you asking us to respond. Running and securing this website is our legitimate interest. We don't use your information for anything else, and we don't use it for direct marketing unless you have asked us to.
who else sees it
A small number of service providers ("operators" under POPIA) handle information on our behalf:
- GoDaddy hosts this website and delivers form submissions to us by email.
- Zoho provides our CRM. Enquiries, including those left through the assistant, are recorded there so we can follow up.
- Our email service is where enquiries arrive and where we keep our correspondence with you.
- Plausible Analytics provides the anonymous analytics described above.
- Google Fonts delivers the typefaces used on this website.
We don't sell your information. We will only disclose it to someone else if the law requires it, or if you ask us to.
information that leaves south africa
Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa - for example Zoho, Plausible and Google. Where that happens we rely on those providers' published data-protection commitments, and we only send what is needed.
how long we keep it
We keep enquiries and assessments for as long as it takes to deal with them, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back with a follow-up question - unless the law requires us to keep something longer. If a conversation leads to work together, the information becomes part of that client relationship and is handled under our agreement with you. If you want something deleted sooner, tell us and we will do it.
keeping it safe
This website is served over HTTPS, so what you type is encrypted on its way to us. Access to our mailbox and CRM is limited to the people at frameworx who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn that your personal information has been accessed by someone who shouldn't have it, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as the law requires.
cookies and browser storage
We don't set cookies of our own, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Two small things are stored in your browser: your progress through the "know where you stand" assessment, so you can come back to it (this stays on your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings), and a note that you have dismissed a prompt, which lasts only until you close the tab.
your rights
Under POPIA you can:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to delete or destroy it;
- object to us processing it; and
- withdraw a consent you have given - this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To do any of these, email Nicholas Stander, our Information Officer, at info@frameworx.co.za. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act.
If we haven't handled something properly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
children
This website is for businesses. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
